| VAR-201903-0580 | CVE-2019-1596 | Cisco NX-OS Vulnerability related to authorization, authority, and access control in software |
CVSS V2: 7.2 CVSS V3: 7.8 Severity: HIGH |
A vulnerability in the Bash shell implementation for Cisco NX-OS Software could allow an authenticated, local attacker to escalate their privilege level to root. The attacker must authenticate with valid user credentials. The vulnerability is due to incorrect permissions of a system executable. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by authenticating to the device and entering a crafted command at the Bash prompt. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to escalate their privilege level to root. Nexus 3000 Series Switches are affected in versions prior to 7.0(3)I7(4). Nexus 3500 Platform Switches are affected in versions prior to 7.0(3)I7(4). Nexus 3600 Platform Switches are affected in versions prior to 7.0(3)F3(5). Nexus 9000 Series Switches in Standalone NX-OS Mode are affected in versions prior to 7.0(3)I7(4). Nexus 9500 R-Series Line Cards and Fabric Modules are affected in versions prior to 7.0(3)F3(5). Cisco NX-OS The software contains vulnerabilities related to authorization, permissions, and access control.Information is obtained, information is altered, and service operation is disrupted (DoS) There is a possibility of being put into a state. Cisco NX-OS Software is prone to a local privilege-escalation vulnerability.

| VAR-201903-0579 | CVE-2019-1595 | Cisco NX-OS Software improper control of dynamically manipulated code resources vulnerability |
CVSS V2: 6.1 CVSS V3: 6.5 Severity: MEDIUM |
A vulnerability in the Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) protocol implementation in Cisco NX-OS Software could allow an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to an incorrect allocation of an internal interface index. An adjacent attacker with the ability to submit a crafted FCoE packet that crosses affected interfaces could trigger this vulnerability. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause a packet loop and high throughput on the affected interfaces, resulting in a DoS condition. This vulnerability has been fixed in version 7.3(5)N1(1). Cisco NX-OS The software is vulnerable to improper control of dynamically manipulated code resources.Service operation interruption (DoS) There is a possibility of being put into a state. The Cisco Nexus 5600 and 6000 Series Switches are modular and fixed-port network switches designed for data centers.

| VAR-201903-0585 | CVE-2019-1591 | Cisco Nexus 9000 Series ACI Mode Switch Command injection vulnerability in software |
CVSS V2: 7.2 CVSS V3: 7.8 Severity: HIGH |
A vulnerability in a specific CLI command implementation of Cisco Nexus 9000 Series ACI Mode Switch Software could allow an authenticated, local attacker to escape a restricted shell on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied input when issuing a specific CLI command with parameters on an affected device. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by authenticating to the device CLI and issuing certain commands. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to escape the restricted shell and execute arbitrary commands with root-level privileges on the affected device. This vulnerability only affects Cisco Nexus 9000 Series ACI Mode Switches that are running a release prior to 14.0(3d).
This issue being tracked by Cisco Bug ID CSCvm52063. The vulnerability stems from the program not adequately filtering the input submitted by the user
