CVE-2017-7007

TITLE

Apple iOS of EventKitUI Service disruption in components (DoS) Vulnerabilities

Trust: 0.8

sources: JVNDB: JVNDB-2017-005713

DESCRIPTION

An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. iOS before 10.3.3 is affected. The issue involves the "EventKitUI" component. It allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (resource consumption and application crash). Apple iOS is prone to multiple security vulnerabilities. Successful exploits will allow attackers to perform unauthorized actions, execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected device or cause denial-of-service conditions; other attacks may also be possible. Apple iOS is an operating system developed by Apple (Apple) for mobile devices. The EventKitUI component is one of the components used to integrate the application with the built-in calendar program. A resource exhaustion vulnerability exists in the EventKitUI component in versions prior to Apple iOS 10.3.3. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 APPLE-SA-2017-07-19-1 iOS 10.3.3 iOS 10.3.3 is now available and addresses the following: Contacts Available for: iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4th generation and later, and iPod touch 6th generation Impact: A remote attacker may be able to cause unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution Description: A buffer overflow issue was addressed through improved memory handling.
