CVE-2017-2368

TITLE

Apple iOS Service disruption in other contact components (DoS) Vulnerabilities

Trust: 0.8

sources: JVNDB: JVNDB-2017-001545

DESCRIPTION

An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. iOS before 10.2.1 is affected. The issue involves the "Contacts" component. It allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted contact card. Apple iOS is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability and a security-bypass vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this issue to bypass security restrictions and perform unauthorized actions or cause a denial-of-service condition. This may aid in further attacks. Apple iOS is an operating system developed by Apple (Apple) for mobile devices. Contacts is one of the mobile phone contact components. An input validation vulnerability exists in the Contacts component in versions prior to Apple iOS 10.2.1. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 APPLE-SA-2017-01-23-1 iOS 10.2.1 iOS 10.2.1 is now available and addresses the following: Auto Unlock Available for: iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4th generation and later, iPod touch 6th generation and later Impact: Auto Unlock may unlock when Apple Watch is off the user's wrist Description: A logic issue was addressed through improved state management.
