DESCRIPTION

The Huawei Mobile Broadband HL Service 22.001.25.00.03 and earlier uses a weak ACL for the MobileBrServ program data directory, which allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges by modifying VERSION.dll. Huawei3G/LTE is a router product of China's Huawei company. There is a local elevation of privilege vulnerability in Huawei3G/LTE's 'MobileBroadbandHLService' service. The vulnerability stems from the folder corresponding to the service allowing users to add malicious VERSION.dll files. An attacker could exploit the vulnerability to implement a DLLsideloading attack to gain full access to the system. The issue is fixed in Huawei 3G/LTE modem versions 22.001.25.00.03
